I have dreamed of restoring old buildings since I was a child, driving though old warehouse districts of Minneapolis with my father. I saw the potential of these architectural gems left in disrepair and near collapse, back in the 1970‘s. Many of those I dreamed about have been brought back to full grandeur with a new usefulness and purpose. It was by chance, that I found this building available for sale in 2005, it was in need of a new purpose, and in need of some repairs and attention which I was passionate about
The Landmark Inn building was originally home to Faith Lutheran Church of Staples. In 2005 the congregation built a new home on the East end of Staples and offered this property for sale. It is a real dream come true to call a former church our home! And we are thankful everyday to be able call this our own, with its incredible architectural features, its grand open spaces, cathedral beamed ceiling, and gleaming hardwood floors. So it was only natural to want to share this experience with others. The Landmark Inn opened in the fall of 2008.

You will find our spacious great room (former sanctuary) with its incredible architectural features, its grand open spaces, cathedral beamed ceiling, will accommodate your every need, regardless of how large or small the occasion. We have attempted to stay true to the Mission and Craftsman’s styles which influenced the building’s original design.
We have five bedrooms nicely furnished in the Mission style, which currently sleep 12 people. However we are licensed for far more. If you have a larger group, please ask about additional accommodations. Our lodging rooms have ten single beds, with one king available in the owners suite, all are plush pillow top mattresses covered in crisp linens. You’ll be covered in luxury, with our Portugal 100% natural cotton duvets, while resting your head for a relaxing nights sleep on our soft down alternative pillows. (Allergy free)
